Cambria has history dating back to 1841. Cambria is a small rural town right off Highway 1 with an artistic community in the north part of San Luis Obispo County. The land Cambria sits on was originally a part of the Mission San Miguel. Through the 1800s the land changed hands and eventually some people (five men named George) invested in the area and also built a general store. In the late 1800s the town was the second biggest settlement on the central coast.
